The AAHTC is currently in the process of revising its list of approved training organisations and counsellor training courses. If your Registered Training Organisation or Accredited Course is not listed here it may simply be that the training organisation has not sought approval.

In order to be approved by the AAHTC, a course must meet several criteria:

• Be delivered by a Registered Training Organisation listed on Training.gov.au
• Be an Accredited Course listed on Training.gov.au
• Be completed over a minimum period of 1 year full time equivalent
• Have at least 70% face to face contact time
• Devote a substantial component of class contact hours to supervised counselling skills practice
